<만복사저포기>와 <봄밤>, 비추어 읽는 사랑의 서사

본고는 15세기 김시습의 <만복사저포기>와 21세기 권여선의 <봄밤>을 서로 대비적으로 읽어서 두 작품에서 그리는 사랑의 성격을 살펴 보았다. 또 필요한 경우 영화 <봄밤>도 참조하였다. 두 작품의 사랑 이야기는 두 남녀의 현재에 충실한 적극적인 사랑 이야기이며, 서로에게 충분히 충족적이고 고양된 상태로 결속된 남녀의 이야기이다. <만복사저포기>와 <봄밤>이 교묘하게 닮았다는 인상을 주는 것은 두 작품에서 그리는 사랑에 대한 태도가 서로 통하는 데서 비롯하는 것으로 보인다. 두 작품을 대비해서 읽을 때 발견하게 되는 또 하나는 <만복사저포기>의 서사가 작가의 전기적 사실이나 계유정난이라는 역사적 사실의 프리즘을 통하지 않고도 하나의 사랑 이야기로 읽히기에 충분하다는 점이다.
Abstract
This paper contrasts Kim Si-seup(金時習)’s 15th-century work <Manboksa Jeopogi(萬福寺樗蒲記)> with Kwon Yeo-seon’s 21st-century work <Spring Night(봄밤)> to examine the nature of love portrayed in these two works. The film <Spring Night> was also referenced when necessary. The love stories in both works are dynamic love stories where a man and a woman enjoy each other's fulfillment and joy, while at the same time showing an attitude of faithfulness to the present. The subtle similarities between <Manboksa Jeopogi> and <Spring Night> seem to stem from the shared attitudes toward love portrayed in both works. Another insight from this comparative reading is that the narrative of <Manboksa Jeopogi> can be interpreted as a love story without the prism of the author’s biographical details or the historical events of the Gyeyujeongnan(癸酉靖難).
