본 연구는 몽골인 학습자들의 한국어 단모음 습득에서 발생하는 오류들을 분석하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 본 연구는 구성원소의 이론적 바탕을 토대로 모음의 내적 구조의 관점에서 오류들을 분석하고자 한다. 몽골인 학습자들에게 한국어 단모음의 입력이 주어지면 몽골인 학습자는 몽골어 모음 체계에 존재하는 모음의 내적 구조를 바탕으로 목표어인 한국어 단모음을 재해석하고 조정한다. 그리고 발화를 통해 산출된다. 이러한 과정에서 긍정적, 부정적 전이가 발생한다. 양 언어에서 /i, e, a, ə/의 내적 구조의 유사성은 몽골인 학습자가 이들 모음에서 긍정적 전이를 일으키는 것을 설명해준다. 반면 몽골인 학습자들의 발화에서 나타나는 한국어 모음 /ɨ/를 [i]로 대체하고, /o/를 [u] 또는 [ɔ]로 대체하고 또 /u/를 [o]로 대체하는 경우는 한국어의 단모음에 대해 몽골어 단모음의 내적 구조를 적용시켜 부정적 전이가 일어나는 것이다.
Abstract
This paper aims to analyze the errors occurring during the acquisition of Korean monophthongs by Mongolian learners in terms of their internal vowels representations within the theoretical framework of Element Theory. When Korean monophthong input is given, Mongolian learners reanalyze and adjust it based on their internal representation of the Mongolian vowel system, as reflected in their output. Positive and negative transitions appear in this process. The commonality of the internal structures of /i, e, a, ə/ explains the positive transfer of these vowels by Mongolian speakers of Korean while substitution errors of [i] for /ɨ/, [u] or [ɔ] for /o/, and [o] for /u/. indicating negative transfer found in Mongolian learners’ pronunciation occur due to adaptation internal representations of Mongolian vowels to Korean.
