초등학생을 위한영국 민속음악 프로그램 개발 및 적용

민속음악은 각 집단 혹은 지역의 문화와 밀접한 연관을 가진다. 본 연구는 영국 민속음악 프로그램을개발한 다음 초등학교 현장에 적용하여 그 효과를 고찰하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이를 위하여 앤더슨과 캠벨(Anderson and Campbell, 2011)이 제안한 4가지 수업 방법을 사용하여 프로그램을 개발한 뒤 수도권 B초등학교에 적용하였다. 적용된 자료는 질적 연구의 방식으로 수집되고 분석되었다. 분석 결과 다음과 같은 네 가지 사실이 발견되었다. 첫째, 프로그램 적용을 통하여 영국의 역사, 문화, 사회에 대한초등학생들의 지식이 크게 향상되었다. 둘째, 흥미 있는 제재곡, 스토리텔링, 동영상, 신체활동이 초등학교에서의 민속음악 수업을 위하여 효과적이었다. 셋째, 영국 민속음악 수업을 위한 효과적인 수업내용및 활동에는 남학생과 여학생 간에 성별의 차이가 있었다. 넷째, 연구자와 학생들 사이의 친밀감(래포)형성, 분량과 난이도의 조절과 같은 문제들이 효과적인 프로그램 적용을 위하여 필요하였다.
Abstract
Folk music has close relationships with the cultures of specifie groups or regions. The purpose of thisstudy is to develop and to implement an elementary music program using British folk music based on thestrategies suggested by Anderson and Campbell(2011). The program was implemented in B elementary schoollocated in the capital area in South Korea. The data were collected and analyzed using qualitative researchmethods. The findings of the data analysis were the following: First, through the program the elementarystudents’ knowledge regarding British history, culture and society was highly enhanced. Second, interestingsongs, story-tellings, video clips and movements were found as effective for folk music classes in theelementary school. Third, there were sex differences between boys and girls with regard to the effects ofeffective learning materials and experiences. Finally, some issues such as the needs for forming rapportbetween the students and the researcher and the needs for the adjustments of amounts and difficulties werediscovered for the successful implementation of the program.
