다문화 교육의 관점에 따른 초등 음악 교과서의 세계 민요 악곡 및 학습 활동 내용 분석

본 연구의 목적은 다문화 교육의 관점에서 초등학교 음악 수업에 영향을 끼치는 음악 교과서를 중심으로 교과서에 수록된 세계 민요 악곡과 학습 활동을 분석해 봄으로써 다문화 음악교육을 진단하고 앞으로의 방향을 모색하는 것이다. 분석 대상은 초등학교 3~4학년 교과서 9종 18권과 5~6학년 교과서 8종 16권으로 총 34권의 음악 교과서로 하였으며, 다문화적 관점에서 제시된 세계 민요와 학습 활동을 면밀히 분석하였다. 연구 수행을 위해 다문화 음악교육의 의미와 역할, 단계를 이론적으로 정립하고, 음악 교과서의 세계 민요 악곡을 분석하였으며, 세계 민요 악곡의 주요 학습 활동을 분석하여 유형으로 정리하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 초등학교 음악 교과서의 세계 민요는 다양한 문화권의 여러 나라 민요를 적절한 수준과 범위로 제시함으로써 의미 있는 음악적 경험을 도모하였다. 둘째, 학습 활동을 분석한 결과 노래 부르기나 감상하기 등 음악 교과 본연의 활동뿐만 아니라 다양한 활동과 통합한 형태로 활동이 제시되어 있었으며 다른 나라의 문화와 언어를 탐색할 수 있는 내용도 포함하고 있었다. 그러나 음악 교과서에 제시된 악곡과 학습 활동만으로는 문화에 관한 깊이 있는 경험이 어렵다는 한계가 있었다. 이에 다음과 같이 제언하였다. 첫째, 다문화 음악교육 단계의 체계화가 필요하다. 둘째, 사회의 변화를 반영한 실질적인 다문화 음악교육이 필요하다. 셋째, 온라인 접근법 등을 활용한 입체적이고 직접적인 음악 경험 제공이 필요하다. 본 연구가 학생들의 문화적 공동체 역량을 함양하는 방향으로의 다문화 음악교육의 발전에 기여하기를 기대한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to diagnose multicultural music education and explore future directions by analyzing foreign folk songs and learning activities, focusing on music textbooks from the perspective of multicultural education. The subjects of the study were 18 textbooks of 9 types in the 3rd and 4th grades and 16 textbooks of 8 types in the 5th and 6th grades, with a total of 34 music textbooks, and foreign folk songs and learning activities presented from a multicultural perspective were analyzed. For this research, I investigate the meaning, function, and stage of multicultural music education in order to establish them theoretically, analyzing foreign folk songs in music textbooks and learning activities and organizing the activities into types. The results of the study are as follows. First, foreign folk songs in music textbooks pursued meaningful musical experiences by presenting folk songs from various cultures at appropriate levels and ranges. Second, as a result of analyzing learning activities, activities were presented in an integrated form with various activities as well as original activities of music subjects such as singing and appreciation, and contents that could explore other countries’ cultures and languages were included. However, there was a limitation in that it was difficult to experience in-depth culture only with music and learning activities presented in music textbooks. Accordingly, it was suggested as follows. First, a system of multicultural music education is needed. Second, practical multicultural music education that reflects changes in society is required. Third, it is necessary to provide a dimensional and direct music experience using an online approach. This study ultimately helps to understand the development of multicultural music education in the direction of cultivating students’ cultural community competence.
