In this paper, I will discuss on the details of Sakae-mura Akiyama dialect in Nagano-ken of Japan, and report on data obtained during field work there. The aim of this paper is to propose an interpretation, from renewed angles, of the Akiyama dialect, and also to provide a comparative analysis of previous literature on them based on the author's research. These goals are summarized as follows: 1. A phonological interpretation of the accentual system the Akiyama dialect is presented. Conversely speaking, The accentual system of this dialect use the opposition between n and (n+1)-mora words as well as Tokyo dialect. 2. The accent pattern of 760 words of So-called Kindaichi vocabulary in the Akiyama dialect shows marked tendencies in terms of the number of the lexical items it contains, depending on the number of moraes, in each word class. 3. Various particle forms in accentuation are described with special emphasis on the tonal patterns and the internal mechanisms.
