예비교사의 교육실습에 대한 기대와 평가, 교육실습을 통한 인식 변화에 관한 연구

본 연구의 목적은 예비교사가 교육실습에 대해 갖는 기대 및 교육실습에 대한 평가를 알아보고, 실습 이전과 이후의 예비교사의 인식변화를 살펴보는 것이었다. 연구도구로는 초등학교로 교육실습을 나간 예비교사 총 98명에게 교육실습 직전과 직후에 사전, 사후 설문지를 각각 사용하였고, 설문지 응답형식은 개방형으로 작성하도록 하였다. 본 연구결과 첫째, 예비교사는 교육실습에 대한 기대가 개인, 실습학교, 대학 차원에서 다르게 나타났다. 둘째, 교육실습에 대한 평가는 대체로 높았으며, 이를 자세히 살펴보면 교육실습의 긍정적 경험으로 아동과 직접 상호작용하고 교사 자질에 관해 생각해볼 수 있었다는 점을 지적하였고, 부정적인 경험으로는 실습기간이 충분하지 않았다는 실습내용과 개인적인 스트레스를 들었다. 마지막으로, 교육실습을 통한 예비교사의 인식변화를 살펴보면, 초등학교 아동과 교직관에 대해서는 인식의 ‘전환’이 이루어졌고, 교사 자질 면에서는 기존의 생각에서 ‘확대’되었으며, 학교관에 대해서는 인식의 ‘확대’, ‘전환’, ‘동일’ 등이 폭넓게 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study aimed to investigate student teachers' expectations toward, and evaluation of student teaching experience, and their changes of perceptions through the experience. Open-ended surveys were administered to 98 student teachers of elementary school, before and after the student teaching experience. The research showed that they had different expectations toward the experience especially in the personal, elementary school, and university levels. They were mostly satisfied with the experience. And they had changed and/or expanded their pervious perceptions of children, roles of teachers and elementary school, and teaching profession after the student teaching experience.
