Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify the acute moderate exercise on accuracy of walking depending on working memory in individuals with Intellectual disability of Participants were 16 individuals(experimental group; 8, control group; 8) with 2-3 levels of intellectual disabilities participated in life physical education program in community welfare center. All participants were conducted pretest and posttest included 2 Experiments. Experimental group performed running with moderate exercise intensity set up Karvonen formula. An experimental group was recorded from 30 minutes after running. First experiment was walking performance immediately after identification of target of 3, 5, 7m distance. Second experiment was walking performance after identification of target and then subtraction calculation during 10 seconds. Errors of walking distance were observed, and converted into absolute and variable error. As the results, acute moderate exercise increases the accuracy and consistency of walking distance in individuals with intellectual disability. How acute exercise affects working memory was discussed. To conclude, acute moderate exercise was thought to optimizer cognitive function by increasing arousal
