해방기 시의 정전화 양상 －≪시집≫과 ≪현대조선명시선≫을 중심으로－

Abstract

This paper inquired into the canonizing features of the poems published in the period of liberation, focusing on two volumes of collected poems. The <Shijip>(ed. Lim Hak－Su. 1949) was the 10th volume of the <Complete Series of Joseon Literature> and contained the self－nominate works of 49 poets. It seemed to keep the ideological balance between the left and right wing through overcoming the contemporary political ideologies and the exclusivism of the literary circles. It also contributed to the making up of a full list of Korean modern poets including those who remained in North Korea or crossed over there from the South. The <Modern Selection of Joseon Poetry>(ed. Seo Jung－Ju. 1950) showed the works of about 40 poets after classifing their poetic schools. In the book, the history of modern poetry was newly written in the viewpoint of national literature. The poems in the <Modern Selection of Joseon Poetry> expressed the national emotion and traditional aesthetic sense by putting much emphasis on ‘blood relation’, ‘love of native place’ and ‘historical consciousness’. Especially it is remarkable that a new poetic field, poems of resistance, was firstly discovered by the book. The <Shijip> and <Modern Selection of Joseon Poetry> turned out to be very different in terms of the subject and ideology of canonization. Lim Hak－Su’s political stance belonged to the group of the ‘middle leftist’ and his concept of poems was based upon that of the British romanticism. Seo Jung－Ju was recognized as the representative poet of the national literary group and he established a new concept of the poem by combining ‘lingual nationalism’ and ‘pure poetry’. Compared with the modern canon texts, the <Modern Selection of Joseon Poetry> shows the most similiar list of poetic works. It suggests that the <Modern Selection of Joseon Poetry> plays an important role in canonizing the poems of the Liberation Period. However, it also turns out to be a paradoxical evidence that the literary viewpoint has been so far reproducted by the literary circles, publishing media and eudcation of literature from the Liberation Period to the present days.
