새 교육과정 초등 도덕과는 사회의 문제에 대안을 제시하는 방법을 건설적으로 만들어 내고자 노력하고 있다. 이에 도덕과 교육은 고도의 도덕적 문제해결력을 갖도록 하는 학생들의 논술적 접근이 요구되었다. 초등 도덕과 교육은 초등학생을 ‘도덕적 인간’으로 양성하는 사명감을 도덕과의 성격, 목표, 내용을 강화하여야 한다. 이러한 측면에서 새 도덕과 교육과정은 도덕교육적 접근과 논술교육을 학생들에게 용이하게 하는 과제를 해결하여야 할 것이다. 그러한 의미에서 본 연구는 초등학교 단계에서의 도덕과 교육과 논술 교육과의 접근과 도덕과 교육이 안고 있는 도덕적 기초와 논술적 기초를 구성하는 방안에 대해 논의하고자 한다.
Abstract
The elementary education on ethics in the New Education Program intensifies the content of ethical resolutions of conflicts which can provide constructive ways of suggesting alternative ideas of social problems. From this point of view, ethics education focuses on students' further understanding of the Synthetic Essay-writing and on developing their abilities of solving problems ethically with higher order of thinking. Therefore, this research intends to search for future-oriented alternatives and solutions through discussing and thinking about ethical social problems creatively. Under this aspect, the new ethics education course has the same feature as the essay-writing education, which is one of the hottest current issues. The purpose of this research, therefore, is to suggest the ways of connecting the ethics education with the essay-writing education at the stage of elementary school education.
