18세기 奇詭尖新 漢詩의 한 양상-徐命寅의 <取斯堂煙華錄>을 중심으로-

Abstract

This paper tried to clarify one aspect of Chinese poetry history in the 18th century by illuminating the poetic world of a new poet, Seo Myeong-in(1725-1802). Through the excavation of <Chuisadang'yeonhwarok>, I introduced the forgotten works of Seo Myeong-in until now and recovered the historical meaning of his works. I revealed a close relationship between Seo Myeong-in and the poets from the class of the illegitimate birth, who played a crucial role in Chinese poetry history of the 18th century, by examining the biography of Seo Myeong-in who was the illegitimate son himself. Furthermore, I analyzed the features of experimental and unconventional style out of the ordinary poetic concept and traditional form in his works. Particularly, I found out his experimental elements in his Akbu (Collection of Tunes) -styled Chinese poetry as follows. The first is a positive use of poems in Hangul(Korean), such as minyo(folk songs), gasa(narrative poem), sijo(short lyric songs) as a subject matter or theme. The second is a depiction of cityscape, such as market in Seoul, harbor, gibang(the house of the professional female entertainers) and city people's life. The third is a description of women's life in the city through the female voice including the joys and sorrows of ginyu(female entertainer). It can be concluded that a variety of his poetic experiments and attempts have great significance in Chinese poetry history of the 18th century.
