학생 선택 특성화 교육과정 운영 분석 및 현장 인식 조사 : 세종시 교과중점학교 사례를 중심으로

고교학점제 도입을 앞두고 있는 현 시점에서, 학생 선택 중심 특성화 교육과정의 장점은 극대화하고, 공통적으로제기되고 있는 문제점을 개선하기 위한 다각적인 노력이 실행될 필요가 있다. 따라서 이 연구에서는 세종시 교과중점학교의 운영 사례를 분석하고, 학생 선택 중심 특성화 교육과정을 경험한 교육 주체(학생, 교사, 관리자)의 인식과 요구사항을 집단심층면담(FGI)을 통해 살펴보았다. 사례 분석 결과에서는 교과중점학교에서 중점과정 관련 학생 중심의차별화된 수업이 운영되고, 다양한 동아리 활동과 체험활동이 이루어져 일반고등학교의 교육역량이 제고되는 성과가나타난 것으로 파악되었다. 반면 교과중점과정이 특정 계열의 중점과정에 편중되는 현상이 나타났고, 융합형 중점과정은학교의 역량에 따라 교육과정 운영의 수준에 차이가 나타나는 것으로 분석되었다. 집단심층면담 분석 결과에서는학생 선택 중심 특성화 교육과정을 충실히 이수하고, 관련 전공으로 대학을 진학한 학생들의 경우에는 특성화 교육과정에서 이루어졌던 여러 활동들이 학생들의 대학 진학 및 역량 강화에 긍정적 영향을 미친 것으로 나타났다. 그리고동시에 이와 같은 결과는 특성화 교육과정을 이수하지 않은 학생들을 대상으로 한 교육과정 운영 및 체제 개선등이 필요함을 의미하기도 한다. 이에 대한 교육적 시사점에 대해 논의하였다.
Abstract
As the high school credit system is about to be introduced, multifaceted efforts need to be made to maximize the advantages of the student-selected specialized curriculum and improve the problems that are commonly raised. Therefore, in this study, we analyzed the operation case of a curriculum-focused school in Sejong City and examined the perceptions and requirements of educational subjects (students, teachers, and administrators) who experienced a student-selection-centered specialized curriculum through in-depth group interviews (FGI). As a result of the case analysis, it was found that differentiated classes centered on students related to the core curriculum were operated in curriculum-focused schools, and various club activities and experiential activities were conducted, thereby improving the educational capabilities of general high schools. On the other hand, it was analyzed that the curriculum-focused curriculum was concentrated on specific courses, and that the convergence-type intensive curriculum showed differences in the level of curriculum operation depending on the school's capabilities. The results of the in-depth group interview analysis showed that for students who faithfully completed the student-selection-centered specialized curriculum and advanced to university with a related major, the various activities that took place in the specialized curriculum had a positive impact on the students' advancement to university and strengthening their capabilities. At the same time, these results also mean that there is a need to improve the curriculum operation and system for students who have not completed specialized curriculum. The educational implications of this were discussed.
