초록

Body is connected with mind and thought. Therefore, "if the way of thinking changes, the body changes too," or "if mind changes, body changes too." In other words, changes in body bring about changes in thoughts and mind. What can change the body is movement in sinmyǒng. Sinmyǒng is not mere excitement with no control but a divine experience in which one's self is unified with nature. Sinmyǒng can be described as "the dynamic operation of the lucid and awakened mind" and "the will to generation," which can create, in both a human being and the universe. With its positive and optimistic influences, sinmyǒng gives a life vivacity dissolving pains and agonies. This is a process in which creation occurs. Through its working in a human being, sinmyǒng helps the human being find true self, or it restores true self in a human being by helping him or her solve problems in life. Also, sinmyǒng with its creative energy brings about a cheerful atmosphere (sinparam) and community spirit. That can form a common aesthetic sense in people. Therefore, the meaning of sinmyǒng in dance education is very important.
