‘상징어 사전’에서 관용어 처리 문제 - 상징어가 구성 요소로 이루어진 관용어를 중심으로 -

Abstract

Korean language dictionary tends not to provide detailed informations on the use of collocations. This paper sorts out the types of collocations using symbolic words. Collocations can be divided into types which use symbolic words either optionally or compulsorily. There are collocations in which symbolic words need not to be used. Some collocations do not allow duplicated form of symbolic words. In lots of collocations vowel sounds and consonants sounds should not be used in the crossed-over form. These are features of collocations which go beyond the general features of symbolic words. Sentence structure informations of collocations should be illustrated in the dictionary. Pragmatical informations are also essential ones which should also be provided in the dictionary for the proper use of collocations. Dictionary of Symbolic words would include the informations discussed in the above.
