어린이공원은 어린이의 보건 및 정서생활의 향상에 기여함을 목적으로 설치된 공원으로, 이용권으로는 250m 이하로 규정하고 있으며, 면적은 1,500㎡ 이상으로 기준한다. 어린이공원은 어린이들의 창의력과 호기심을 자극할 수 있는 다양한 놀이시설에 집중하여 언급하였다. 물론 편의성에서 다양한 놀이시설은 어린이공원의 핵심이 된다. 그러나 인구 감소와 고령화 시대로의 전환이라는 국가 상황을 볼 때 어린이공원은 어린이와 노인, 청소년들이 함께 공유할 수 있도록 공간으로 변환될 수 있는 계기가 필요한 시점이다. 또한 공원 주변의 주차문제를 해결하여 어린이들이 자유롭고 안전하게 이용할 수 있는 환경을 조성하는 것이 매우 중요한 과제지만 경주시 어린이공원은 미흡한 상태이다. 따라서 본 연구는 경주시 어린이공원의 공간요소를 정량적이고 객관적으로 조사 및 분석하여 공원관리에 필요한 정보를 제공하는데 목적이 있다. 연구범위는 다음과 같다. 시간적 범위는 2021년 6월부터 2024년 8월까지 수행하였으며, 공간적 범위는 경상북도 경주시 어린이공원 44개소 대상으로 하였다. 내용적 범위는 어린이공원의 놀이시설, 편의시설, 안전시설, 조경식물 등 조경과 관련된 공간구성요소 현황을 파악하였고 접근성, 포용성, 안전성, 편의성, 쾌적성 측면에서 어린이공원의 공간구성을 해석하였다.
Abstract
Children's parks are parks established for the purpose of contributing to the improvement of children's health and emotional life. Children's parks are focused on providing a variety of play facilities that stimulate children's creativity and curiosity. Of course, convenience is a key factor in providing a variety of play facilities. However, given the national situation of population decline and transition to an aging society, it is time for children's parks to be transformed into spaces where children, the elderly, and youth can share together. In addition, solving the parking problem around the park and creating an environment where children can use the park freely and safely is a very important task, but the children's park in Gyeongju City is insufficient. Therefore, this study aims to quantitatively and objectively investigate and analyze the spatial elements of children's parks in Gyeongju City to provide information necessary for park management. The research scope is as follows. The time range was conducted from June 2021 to August 2024, and the spatial range was 44 children's parks in Gyeongju City, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The content range identified the current status of spatial components related to landscaping, such as play facilities, convenience facilities, safety facilities, and landscaping plants in children's parks, and interpreted the spatial composition of children's parks in terms of accessibility, inclusiveness, safety, convenience, and comfort.
