본 연구의 목적은 정재만류 승무의 올바른 전승교육과 정통성의 맥을 잇기 위한 자구책이 모색되어져야 한다는 필요성과 기존에 연구 되어진 한성준-한영숙-정재만류 승무 춤사위의 특징을 재조명함으로써 정재만류 승무의 미적 특질과 예술적 가치를 분석하고 정리하는 것은 매우 시의적절하다 하겠다. 본 연구를 수행하기 위해 선행 연구된 문헌자료를 토대로 한 인문학적 연구방법을 활용하였으며 연구 대상의 제한점은 한성준-한영숙-정재만으로 이어지는 계보에서 정재만류 승무에 국한하고자 한다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 무용미학적 관점에서의 예술적 가치는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 승무의 미적 구조는 외면적으로 드러나는 형태적 아름다움과 내면의 세계를 나타내는 내면의 아름다움이 조화를 이루고 있으며 그 중 춤사위의 형태적인 미와 신체 에너지의 확장성을 요구하는 형태미이다. 둘째, 정재만의 승무는 어느 한쪽으로도 치우치지 않는 중용미를 강조하였으며 인간 내면의 경지로 승화시켰다.다. 셋째, 춤 수련 시 자아성찰을 통한 인간의 내면을 되돌아보게 함으로써 마음의 정화와 내면미를 갖추게 하였다. 넷째, 움직임의 확장과 직선적 동선의 사용이 크게 사용되어 추어짐으로써 역동미를 추구한 것을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore countermeasures for ensuring proper pedagogical transmission and preservation of the authenticity of the Jung Jae-man lineage of Seungmu, and to analyze its aesthetic characteristics as well as its artistic value, synthesizing them by re-examining the features of Seungmu dance movements in the Han Seong-jun–Han Young-sook–Jung Jae-man lineage that have been previously studied. To carry out this research, a humanities-based methodology was employed using existing literature, and the scope was limited to the Jeong Jae-man style Seungmu within the genealogy from Han Seong-jun to Han Young-sook to Jung Jae-man. The artistic values derived from an aesthetic perspective through this study are as follow. First, the aesthetic structure of Seungmu harmonizes external, formal beauty with inner beauty that reflects the dancer’s internal world; notably, the formal beauty of the movements demands an extension of bodily energy. Second, Jeong Jae-man’s Seungmu emphasizes a balanced beauty that avoids any extreme and elevates it to a realm of human inner consciousness. Third, during training, self-reflection on one’s inner self is encouraged, leading to mental purification and the cultivation of inner beauty. Fourth, the extensive use of expansive movements and linear pathways demonstrates a deliberate pursuit of dynamic beauty.
