Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the Korean traditional propensity and identity of the traditional dance Seungmu, and to reshape educational direction and contents of Korean traditional dance from this examination. To solve this problem, I made traditional Seungmu as a main subject because it's well keeping contents and form of traditional dance, and it's a model of traditional dance. The traditional dance education issue which we are facing these days comes from the preservation and transmission of intangible cultural assets. The value of diverse meaning and the dance movement of traditional dance Seungmu has been belittled to a common saying is also because of a fixed idea in traditional dance. We can find a trace that can solve this problem in traditional dance and can also keep the preservation and develop the possibility of constant expand of traditional Seungmu, is in remodeling the concept of it. A traditional Seungmu's remodeled concept is not just a body movement of tradition, but it's aesthetically valued dance movement and contents itself. Also the history and the meaning of the dance movement that forms the dance needs to explained newly. The identification of Seungmu, based on these traditional propensity of Seungmu are these. First, the identity that's been revealed as dance product form. Second, the identity as in Korean cultural artwork. Third, the identity as basic field of traditional dance. Fourth, the identity as dance that keeps the best Korean aesthetic sense. Fifth, the identity that carries our historicity of life. Sixth, the identity as a training method that pursues realization. Based on these traditional propensity and identity of Seungmu, a strategy for traditional dance education must be reconstructed. To do that, reorganizing the contents of traditional dance education, with the view of body centered epistemology will be the first move. Second, encourage dance writing for traditional dance education with communication and discussion, and formate discussion of traditional dance that can own this jointly. Third, we have to have existence pointed attitude, the purpose and contents of education must be openly offered. And in the teaching method, it must be coached unified considering these realization, perception of body.
