중력모형을 이용한 한국의 석유제품 교역패턴 분석

동북아지역은 한국, 일본, 중국으로 대표되는 세계적인 석유 다소비국이 집중되어 세계 석유물류 이동의 핵심 축으로 부상하고 있다. 특히 서시베리아 유전개발과 북극 항로개척에 따라 동북아지역은 향후 세계 석유제품 교역의 허브가 될 전망이며, 이에 대비하기 위해 한국의 석유제품 교역패턴에 대한 체계적인 연구가 필요하다. 본 연구에서는 한국과 석유제품을 교역하고 있는 전 세계 76개국을 대상으로 1992년부터 2009년까지 총 18년 동안의 패널데이터를 이용하여 한국의 석유제품 교역패턴을 연구하고자 한다. 중력모형을 활용하여 교역패턴을 분석한 결과, 한국의 석유제품 은 일반적인 중력모형이론과 일치하였으며, 석유제품 교역에 대한 지역경제협력체의 영향은 지역경제협력체별로 다소 상이한 결과가 도출되었다.
Abstract
Northeast Asia which consists of the world's oil consuming countries is emerging as one of the oil logistic centers. Especially, Northeast Asia with developing oil fields in Western Siberia and exploring the Arctic route will be a major hub of trade in petroleum products in the future. This paper analyzed the trade pattern of the Korea's petroleum products with 76 trading partners using panel data-set from 1992 to 2009. The gravity model is employed for the analysis. The results of analysis are as follows: The trade pattern of Korea's petroleum products with other countries is consistent with that of the gravity model. However, the effect of economic integration is different from what the gravity model implies.
