한국과 항공무역 주요국간 수출입 패턴 분석

본 연구는 중력모형을 이용하여 한국의 무역 운송수단 중 하나인 항공운송수단을 통한 한국과 항공운송 주요국간 발생하는 무역 패턴을 분석하였다. 항공운송 분야의 자세한 특성을 파악하기 위해 종속변수를 금액과 중량으로 구분하여 분석하였다. 주요국 선정은 2017년 기준 항공운송 수출금액 기준상위 89개 국가를 대상으로 하였으며, 분석 기간은 1998년부터 2017년까지 20년간을 대상으로 하였다. 분석 범위는 수출, 수입 그리고 교역으로 나누어 분석을 실시하였다. 연구모형에서는 우선 중력모형의기본 설명변수인 GDP와 1인당 GDP 그리고 국가간 거리 이외에도 국가면적을 설명변수로 추가하였다. 그리고 내륙국가 여부와 APEC, OECD 가입 여부도 모형에서 고려하였다. 분석결과 한국의 무역 규모는 GDP나 1인당 GDP에 비례하고 양국간 거리에 반비례하는 것으로 나타났다. 구체적으로 한국의 항공무역 금액 분석에서 수출액은 1인당 GDP에 비례하는 결과를 보였으며, GDP와 OECD 가입 여부는 유의미한 결과를 나타내지 못했다. 반면 수입액의 경우는 GDP에 비례하는 결과를 보였고, OECD 가입 여부도 정(+)의 효과를 나타내면서 수출액과 수입액간 차이를 나타냈다. 교역액은 수출액 결과와 마찬가지로 1인당 GDP에 비례하는 결과를 보였다. 항공무역 중량분석에서 수출량은 GDP에 비례하고 1인당 GDP와 국가간 거리에는 반비례하는 결과를 보였다. 그리고 국가면적은 예상과 달리 부(-)의 효과를 보임으로써 국가면적은 수출량을 감소시키는 요인으로 작용하였다. 수입량은 GDP와 1인당 GDP 모두 유의미한 결과를 나타내지 못했지만, OECD 가입 여부는 정(+)의 효과를 보였다. 교역량은 수출량 분석결과와 같이 GDP에 비례하고 1인당 GDP와 국가간거리에는 반비례하는 결과를 보였다. 그리고 APEC과 OECD 가입 여부는 모두 정(+)의 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
In this study, the gravity model is used to analyze the trade patterns that occur between Korea and the major countries of air transportation using air transport, one of the Korean means of trade. In particular, in order to grasp the detailed characteristics of air transport, the dependent variables are divided into amount and weight, and then analyzed into export, import and trade respectively. The major countries were selected from the top 89 countries based on air transport exports as of 2017, and the analysis period was 20 years from 1998 to 2017. The scope of analysis was divided into export, import and trade. In addition to the basic explanatory variables of the gravity model, GDP per capita, and distances between countries, the research model added national areas as explanatory variables. In addition, the model also considers the landlocked country status and accession to APEC and OECD. The analysis shows that Korea’s trade volume is proportional to GDP or GDP per capita and inversely proportional to the distance between the two countries. Specifically, in the analysis of air trade amounts in Korea, exports were proportional to GDP per capita, and GDP and accession to the OECD did not show significant results. On the other hand, the amount of imports was proportional to GDP, and the membership of the OECD also had a positive effect, showing a difference between exports and imports. The amount of trade was proportional to GDP per capita, as was the result of exports. In air trade weight analysis, exports were proportional to GDP and inversely proportional to GDP per capita and distance between countries. In addition, the country area had a negative effect, which was a factor that reduces the export volume. Imports did not show significant results for both GDP and GDP per capita, but access to the OECD had a positive effect. Trade volume is proportional to GDP and inversely proportional to GDP per capita as shown in the export analysis. In addition, both APEC and OECD membership were found to have a positive effect.
