웹소설을 통해 본 ‘진가쟁주’ 서사의 현대적 변용 양상과 그 의미 – 고전소설 「옹고집전」과 웹소설 「역하렘 게임 속으로 떨어진 모양입니다」, 「마지막 여행이 끝나면」의 비교를 중심으로 –

Abstract

This study compares the narratives of the classic novel “Ongkojip-Jeon” and the modern web novels “It looks like it fell into a reverse harem game” and “When the last journey is over” to examine how the “Truth and Falsity Contention” has changed over time. The narrative structure of “Truth and Falsity Contention” shares the following elements: (1) the evil deeds of the real; (2) the absence of the real and the appearance of the fake; (3) the adaptation of the fake (the fake taking the role of the real); (4) the competition between the real and the fake for the position; (5) the victory of the fake; and (6) the good deeds of the fake. The narrative meaning is then differentiated depending on who settles down on stage ⑦ “One leaves, the other settles down.” Classical literature emphasizes punishing the unethical behavior of the “real” haves. In contrast, contemporary works focus on the revolutionization of relationships and society by the “fake.” The premise is that the fake has not been given a chance but is already full of potential. Contemporary “Truth and Falsity Contention” narratives emphasize that the prerequisite for fulfilling a social role is not an inherited social position but rather having the vision and potential capacity to lead other people to a better path. Additionally, contemporary works confirm a social orientation that values unity and solidarity over oppression and violence.
