잠언 1-9장에 등장하는 의인화된 지혜여성의 수사학적 기능과 신학적 의미를 연구하였다. 특히, 1:20-33, 8:1-36, 9:1-6의 본문에 대한 구조분석과 수사학적 비평은 각각 예언자적 목소리, 전통과 혁신의 통합적 목소리, 일상의 생명 구현의 목소리를 밝혀준다. 이를 통하여 의인화된 지혜여성은 포로후기 지혜자들의 ‘알 수 없는’ 존재 세계에 대한 신학적 투영이며 야웨 경외 신앙의 본체라는 사실이 드러났다. 지혜여성의 의인화는 포로후기 격변하는 세계에서 야웨경외 신앙을 붙들고자 했던 지혜자들의 수사학이었음을 발견한 것이 본 논문의 공헌이다.
Abstract
This paper claims that the personified woman wisdom in the book of Proverbs is a theological entity rhetorically employed by wise scribes in the post-exilic period. Previous scholarship has discussed the woman wisdom in various ways: female deity derived from neighbouring culture, a contrast to ‘strange woman,’ hypostatization of divine reality, the order of creation and so on. Yet, analyses of each text of the personified wisdom(1:20-33, 8:1-36, 9:1-6) elucidate that the metaphor of wisdom reveals Israelite original device of theological concept to emphasize the fear of Yahweh. Proverbs 1:20-33 indicates prophetic voice of judgment on the unfaithful. 8:1-36 integrates traditional teaching of the wise with innovative song of pre-existing wisdom before creation. 9:1-6 declares the fullness of life in the house of wisdom, which shows a contrast to the destruction in the house of foolish woman in 9:13-18. Personification of woman wisdom does not suit with androcentric culture of the ancient Israel. However, the wisdom group utilizes this female metaphor in order to explain the inscrutability of God and the marvelous way of creation. This mystery of woman wisdom leads people to the way of the pious in the fear of Yahweh. This paper contributes to finding not only the rhetorical and theological significance of woman wisdom but also later development of Israelite wisdom tradition which is related to interpretations of the personified woman wisdom.
