잠언 8장의 여성지혜와 안병무의『선천댁』에 대한 해석학적 대화

이 논문에서는 신(新) 양식비평학을 사용하여 잠언 8장과 안병무의 『선천댁』에 대한 해석학적 대화를 시도한다. 두 본문을 공시적, 통전적 해석으로 비교할 때, 우리는 여성과 지혜라는 합류점에서 만나게 된다. 이 합류점은 성서를 읽는 독자에게 해석학적 이해을 위한 전거를 제시한다. 잠언 8장에서는 여성으로 의인화된 지혜가 거리에서 사람들을 향해 지혜를 일깨우며 정의를 선포하고 있다. 이 여성 지혜(Lady Wisdom)는 성서 전승에서 지혜를 여성으로 이미지화한 것이다. 안병무의 어머니였던 선천댁의 이야기에서 지혜를 지닌 한국 여성 민중의 삶을 볼 수 있다. 선천댁은 안병무라는 한 개인의 어머니로서 삶을 살아간 것만이 아니다. 선천댁은 한국의 역사적 사건 속에서 지혜와 명철을 발휘한 한국 여성들의 삶의 원형을 보여주는 지혜의 담지자이다. 잠언 8장의 여성 지혜와 『선천댁』은 시간과 공간을 달리 하는 본문들이지만 여성이 지니고 있는 지혜라는 공통된 전거로 한국 여성들을 위한 두 이야기의 합류를 보여준다. 먼저, 신 양식비평학을 이 글의 방법론으로 소개한다. 그리고 잠언 8장과 『선천댁』을 구조 (structure), 장르 (genre), 삶의 자리 (setting)와 의도 (intention)로 각각 구분하여 해석한다. 여성의 지혜는 삶속에서 드러나며, 이 지혜는 생명을 추구하고 미래 사건을 지향한다. 여성과 지혜라는 담론을 지니고 있는 두 본문은 성서의 지혜 전승과 한국 여성의 지혜 담론의 합류를 드러내어 해석학적 대화를 보여준다.
Abstract
This paper attempts to draw a hermeneutic dialogue between Proverb 8 in the Old Testament and Sunchundaek written by Ahn Byung Moo. The analysis of two texts by new form criticism reveals a confluence of stories in the concept of women and wisdom. Lady Wisdom in Proverb 8 calls out wisdom in public places and raises her voice in talking about discerning right from wrong. Sunchundaek is not only the mother of An Byung Moo, but also a wisdom container of Korean Minjung women who have been oppressed by patriarchal structures. Sunchundaek recognizes wisdom whenever it is needed, and lives with it. Two texts related to women and wisdom are the biblical references to Korean women. The comparison of two stories is available from the studies both of Suh Nam Dong and H. G. Gadamer regarding hermeneutic interpretations. The discours of women and wisdom in Proverbs 8 and Sunchundaek can be articulated within the "fusion of horizons" in the various traditions. Both Proverb 8 and Sunchundaek will be interpreted in structure, genre, setting, and intention according to new form criticism. The analysis of two texts uncovers the characteristics of women's wisdom. Women realize wisdom from the environment every day. Women's wisdom seeks life, and moves toward the future events.
