자기 배려 윤리의 논점에서 본 ‘분노’

이 글은 누스바움의 분노와 용서의 중심 주제인 분노에 관하여고찰하고 분노에 관한 누스바움의 분석에서 배제된 분노의 윤리적 의미를찾으려는 시도이다. 누스바움은 분노를 부정적 감정이라 본다. 그는 분노가부정적인 감정인 이유를 규범 윤리의 입장에서 분석하고 분노를 제거해야한다고 주장한다. 나는 누스바움의 분석이 설득력이 있다고 생각하지만 일면그가 배제하고 있는 감정 그 자체로서의 분노가 주체와의 관계에서 다른 작용을 할 수 있다고 본다. 그런 이유에서 누스바움과 다른 입장의 논의들을 살펴보기 위해 아리스토텔레스의 분노에 관한 논점을 분석한다. 또 ‘자기 배려 윤리’ 의 논점에서 분노를 재해석하여 분노가 윤리적 질료로 가치가 있음을 보일것이다. 이를 위해 푸코가 해석한 세네카의 분노론을 분석하고 푸코가 포착한세네카의 분노에 대한 다른 논점들이 무엇인지 조명할 것이다. 이를 바탕으로분노가 자기 배려 주체에게 윤리적 질료로서 의미가 있음을 보이고, 자기 배려주체에게 윤리적 힘을 키우게 하는 주된 계기로 분노의 의의를 재발견할 수있음을 논구한다.
Abstract
This study is designed to check out the main topic of Martha Nussbaum's anger and forgiveness and then try to find out the ethical meaning of the anger which was excluded from her analysis. Martha Nussbaum considers anger as a negative emotion. She analyzed the reason why anger is a negative emotion from the perspective of ethics and argued that it should be removed. I think that her analysis is persuasive but that the anger which is excluded by her can make another effect on the relation with the subject as the emotion itself. In that respect, to find out other discussions different from Martha Nussbaum, the views on Aristotle's anger is analyzed. In addition, as anger has been reinterpreted from the perspective of "self-care ethics", anger would look valuable as an ethical material. For this purpose, Seneca's theory of anger, which was interpreted by Foucault would be analyzed and the other discussions on Seneca's anger caught by Foucault would be handled. Based on this, it would be argued that anger has a meaning as an ethical material to the self-care subject and that anger has the meaning in that it would give ethical power to the self-care subject.
