Abstract
The purpose of this study is to offer a comparative approach to the origins of post-colonial division and post-divisional process in Korean peninsula and island of Ireland from a post-colonial perspective. The paper is divided into three parts. First, theoretical discussions on post-colonial social partition and conflict transformation are reconstructed. Second, resistance movements against colonial rule on the Korean peninsula and in island of Ireland are redescribed from the perspective of home rule, in order to trace back to the origins of national division. Third, the post-colonial peace processes that can be defined as the post-divisional processes in Korean peninsula and island of Ireland are compared, focusing upon the Irish case. Finally, the implication of Ireland's post-colonial peace regime to the Korean peninsula is presented.
