Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies on the automation of video production and to explore how human creativity operates within these systems. Furthermore, it investigates how collaboration between AI and creators opens up new aesthetic and artistic possibilities. In recent years, AI technologies have been actively integrated into various stages of video production — from scriptwriting, shooting, and editing to color grading and sound design — resulting in not only enhanced production efficiency but also a redefinition of the creative subject. Focusing on real-world cases involving AI-based video generation tools such as Runway, Pika Labs, Sora, and Kaiber, this study identifies that AI-driven automation does not merely replace human labor but instead functions as an extension of the creator’s cognitive and sensory capacities. AI enables creators to experiment and visualize ideas rapidly in the early stages of production (concept development and storyboarding), while in the post-production phase (editing and color correction), it reduces repetitive tasks and enhances the overall completeness of the final work. However, this study also points out the inherent risk of “pseudo-creativity” produced by algorithmic imitation, which can dilute the authenticity of artistic expression. Ultimately, the findings suggest that AI-based video production should not be seen as a threat to human creativity, but rather as a paradigm shift toward collaborative art-making that expands the boundaries of creative practice and artistic education.
