본 연구는 AI 기반 영상 생성 도구인 Sora AI를 활용하여 제작된 본인의 영상 작품 <Rotation>을 사례로 분석하고, AI와 인간 창작자 간의 협력적 창작이 예술적 표현에 미치는 영향을 탐구하였다. 연구 결과, AI 기술은 시각적 변형과 서사를 창작자에게 새로운 형태로 제공하며 창의적 상상력과 직관을 확장하는 데 기여하였다. 특히 리믹스 기능을 통해 생성된 예상치 못한 시각적 요소들은 창작자에게 새로운 영감을 제공하고, 반복적 실험과 피드백을 통해 보다 창의적인 결과물로 이어졌다. 그러나 AI 창작 과정에서 몇 가지 한계점이 발견되었는데, AI가 생성하는 결과물의 예측 불가능성으로 인해 창작자의 의도와 일관성에 부합하지 않는 결과물이 나오기도 하여 추가적인 후반 작업이 필수적으로 요구되었다. 또한 AI가 학습한 데이터의 편향성 문제와 인간 창작자 역할 축소 가능성에 대한 우려가 제기된다. 가짜 뉴스나 조작된 정보 확산 위험이 커짐에 따라, AI 창작 도구에 대한 윤리적 규제와 사회적 논의의 필요성도 강조된다. 본 연구는 AI가 단순한 자동화 도구를 넘어 창작 과정에서 창작자의 협력적 동반자로 기능할 수 있음을 조명하며, AI와 인간 창작자가 예술적 성취를 함께 이루기 위한 균형 있는 접근이 필요하다는 점을 제언한다. 이를 통해 AI는 창작자들에게 더 많은 영감과 기회를 제공하며 예술과 디자인 분야에서 지속적으로 발전할 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
This study analyzes the video artwork <Rotation>, a music video created with the AI-based video generation tool Sora AI, to explore how collaborative creation between AI and human creators influences artistic expression. The findings reveal that AI technology offers new forms of visual transformation and narrative, expanding creative imagination and intuition for artists. The unexpected visual elements generated through the remix function serve as a source of fresh inspiration, leading to more innovative outcomes through iterative experimentation and feedback. In <Rotation>, rotational motion serves as the central motif, with visual elements undergoing processes of displacement and transformation to symbolize the cyclical interrelationship among humanity, nature, time, and space. However, the study also identifies several limitations in the AI-assisted creative process. The unpredictability of AI-generated outputs may result in visuals that deviate from the creator’s intended message or disrupt narrative coherence, requiring additional post-production efforts. Furthermore, issues of data bias inherent in AI training and concerns about diminishing human creative agency were highlighted. As AI advances in creating hyper-realistic content that blurs the line between reality and fiction, the potential for misinformation and media manipulation grows, highlighting the need for ethical frameworks and broader societal dialogue around AI-generated content. This study emphasizes that AI is not merely a tool for automation but a collaborative partner in the creative process. It concludes by advocating for balanced approaches that address the technical, social, and ethical challenges of AI in creative industries. By doing so, AI can serve as a valuable creative companion, providing artists with greater inspiration and opportunities for artistic exploration and innovation.
