한국의 지방소멸위험에 대한 설명인자 연구

이 연구는 우리나라의 지방소멸위험에 대한 설명인자를 도출하는 데 목적이 있다. 지방소멸위험에 영향을미치는 인자를 탐색하기 위해, 상관분석, 회귀분석, 주성분분석을 수행하였다. 종속변수는 지방소멸위험지수였다. 다변량 계량분석의 독립변수는 구득이 용이한 2020년 기준 전국 250개의 시·군·구 행정구역 자료를 토대로 총 12개를 선정하였다. 상관분석 결과, 강한 양의 상관관계를 보인 변수는 자연적 증감률, 지역내총생산액, 재정자립도였으며, 강한 음의 상관관계를 보인 변수로는 독거노인가구 비율, 보험료부담 대비 급여비 비율, 기초연금 수급률이었다. 단계적 회귀분석 결과, 사회적 증감률, 자연적 증감률, 출생률, 독거노인가구 비율, 지역내총생산액, 재정자립도, 빈집 비율 등 총 7개 변수가 통계적으로 유의하였다. 주성분분석 결과, 우리나라의 지방소멸 원인은 제1인자로‘고령화,’ 제2인자로 ‘저출산,’ 제3인자로는 ‘경제’가 추출되었다. 이 연구는 인구 감소 시대의 도시 및 지역 경쟁력 강화 연구의 기초가 될 것이다.
Abstract
This study aims to elicit the factors related to Korean Local Extinction Risk by conducting the quantitative analyses. The variables with strong positive correlations were the natural increase and decrease rate, the GRDP, and the financial independence, and the variables with strong negative correlations were the ratio of elderly households living alone, the ratio of wages to insurance premiums, and the basic pension benefit rate. According to the results of a stepwise regression analysis, a total of 7 variables were found to be statistically significant, including the social increase and decrease rate, the natural increase and decrease rate, the low birth rate, the ratio of elderly people living alone, the GRDP, the financial independence, and the vacant house ratio. According to the result of the principal component analysis, the first factor could be labelled as ‘aging factor’, the second factor was ‘low birth rate factor’, and the third factor was ‘economic factor.’ This study will be a basis to investigate urban and regional competitiveness in the era of population shrinkage.
