한국의 중국어 연구에서 본 디지털 인문학에 관한 제언

본고에서는 그동안 한국의 중국어 연구에서 디지털 기술을 적용한 연구 성과와 그 한계 및 원인을 살펴보고, 지금의 시대와 사회 변화에 따른 학문적⋅사회적 흐름을 검토한 다음, 디지털 인문학을 능동적으로 수용하는 방안과 대표적인 예들을 몇 가지 제안해 봤다. 이는 중국어 연구와 디지털 인문학의 접점과 관련성을 설명함으로써 앞으로 두 학문의 통섭과 융합을 통해 더욱 생산성 있는 성과를 얻기 위함이다. 특히 인문학자인 중국어 연구자들이 고난도 디지털 기술에 관한 이해가 없이도 쉽게 접근이 가능한 디지털 교과서 설계, 텍스트 마이닝 분석 및 디지털 큐레이션 역할에 관해 소개해 봤다. 그러나 여기서는 각 예들의 연구 주제, 대상, 방법 등과 같이 연구의 전반적인 과정의 상세한 설명이 아닌 중국어 연구와의 관련성, 디지털 인문학적 수용 방식 및 그 결과에 관한 소개로 한정했다. 또한, 지금의 디지털⋅인공지능 상용화 사회에서 한국의 중국어 연구도 근접 학문이나 타 분야와의 협업을 통해 현실적 대안을 마련하거나 중국어 연구 관점에서 새로이 수용하는 방식이 필요함을 제기했다. 본 연구를 통해 한국의 중국어 연구도 기존 연구에서 확장하여 한국인을 위한 중국ㆍ중국어 관련 디지털ㆍ인공지능 기반의 성과를 거두고, 앞으로 디지털 인문학과의 통섭, 융합 및 발전의 기반이 마련됐으면 한다.
Abstract
In this study, I examined the research achievements and limitations of digital technology in Chinese studies. I reviewed the academic and social trends of the present era, with a focus on social changes. Then, I proposed several methods and provided examples to actively integrate digital humanities into Chinese studies. This is because I believe it will serve as an opportunity to achieve more productive results from the convergence of the two disciplines in the future by elucidating the intersection and relationship between Chinese studies and digital humanities. Chinese humanities scholars have introduced the design of digital textbooks, text mining analysis, and digital curation, making them easily accessible even to those without a high level of understanding of digital technology. However, instead of providing a detailed explanation of the entire research process, methods, and results of the examples, this introduction focuses on their significance in Chinese language research, acceptance in digital humanities, and their outcomes. It also explains how Korea’s Chinese language studies can generate practical alternatives through collaboration with other closely related academic fields, or how to incorporate new perspectives from Chinese language research in today’s digital and artificial intelligence-driven commercial society. Therefore, it is hoped that research on Korean Chinese will be expanded beyond current boundaries to achieve digital and artificial intelligence-driven outcomes related to the Chinese language and its use by Koreans. This will facilitate the convergence and advancement of Chinese studies and digital humanities in the future.
