METHODS OF NOMINATION AND THE LINGUISTIC WORLD PICTURE OF VIETNAMESE PEOPLE

Basing on given research results, we would like to present our idea of the linguistic world picture. By investigating Vietnamese hypotatic compound words, we will prove that:The first, the way that Vietnamese people select thing’s characteristics (through the meaning of extra morpheme) is different from other communities’ ways. The second, the selection of thing’s characteristics in nomination process (that is, the meaning of extra morpheme) depends on the “kind” meaning of mean morpheme. The third, Vietnamese people regularly used metaphorical method to nominate things for various language units as morpheme, word and phrase. In this paper, we mainly refer to the way of nomination through hypotactic compound words applied by Vietnamese. Based on the word formatting in Vietnamese such as paratactic combination and reduplication,this research could be developed by analyzing Vietnamese cognition of the world.
