Abstract
A Study on the Correlation Between Language and Thought- with special reference to the comparison of polysemous words between Korean and Vietnamese -Park Jong-gap(Yeung Nam Univ.)The Article examined the similarities and differences on the thought of language users between Korean and Vietnamese by comparing the polysemous phenomena of certain human body terms between two languages. The article was based and developed on the assumption that language has an influence on the thought of language users and the way of thinking, at the same time, also influences on a language structure.Within the scope of the polysemous phenomena related to human body terms, the article confirmed that two languages, though semantic meaning of a polysemous word formed in each lexical item, have fundamentally identical frames in two languages and two language users understand the world with the same cognitive frames despite slight differences in more detail and specific aspects.
