이 글에서는 북한의 공식 문예론인 주체문예론의 초기 형성과정을 다각도로 재조명한다. 아울러 그와 관련된 김정일의 초기 예술론과 실무지도를 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 주체문예론의 형성에는 김일성이 창조했다는 ‘항일혁명문학예술’의 전통을 김정일을 비롯한 주체문예론의 이데올로그들이 1970년대에 각종 예술작품, 공연으로 재현, 재창작한 경험이 중요한 구실을 하였다. 이에 주체문예론이 북한 문학예술의 유일 이론으로 정착하는 데 참여한 강능수, 한중모, 정성무 등의 이론적 기여와 김정일의 청년시절 초기(1964-73) 문예론을 구체적으로검토하였다. 그 결과 사회주의적 사실주의 미학의 ‘조선화’ 차원을 넘어서 보편 미학과 차별화된 주체문예론의 자기정립이 이루어졌다고 보았다. 그 특징은 수령의 영도(최고 지도자의 지도)와 항일무장투쟁기의 예술선동 경험을 유일 전통으로 규정하고 이후 북한 문학예술은 그를전범으로 삼아 창작하고 비평하는 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this article is to re-examine the early formation process of North Korea’s Juche literature & art theory from various angles and to explore Kim Jong-il’s early literature & art theory and practical guidance. In the formation of Juche literature & art theory, the experience of recreating and recreating the tradition of ‘Anti-Japanese revolutionary literature & art’ led by Kim Il-sung as various works of art and performances in the 1970s made an important contribution. Accordingly, the contributions of Kang Neung-soo, Han Jung-mo, and Jeong Seong-moo, who contributed to the establishment of Juche literature & art theory as the only official theory of North Korean literature & art, and Kim Jong-il’s literature & art theory are reviewed in detail. As a result, it was considered that the independent line of Juche literature & art theory differentiated from universal aesthetics was established beyond the ‘Koreanization’ dimension of socialist realism aesthetics. Its characteristic defines the leadership of the supreme leader and the experience of art instigation during the armed struggle against anti-Japanese as the only tradition, and it can be said that later literature and art are created using it as an example.
