가짜 뉴스는 특정한 이익이나 사회적으로 영향을 미치기 위한 목적을 갖고 있으며, 사회적 매체를 통해 많은 배포가 이루어진다. 주요 배포는 사회적 매체에 링크함으로써 이루어지고, 이러한 링크를 통해 가짜 뉴스 발행인들은 웹 트래픽을 증가시켜 수익을 올린다. 성공적인 가짜 뉴스는 수백만 번 공유되고 수천수만의 광고 수익을 만들어낸다. 가짜 뉴스는 많은 비판을 받고 있는 인터넷 현상 중 하나이며, 최근에 많은 사람들은 가짜 뉴스가 주요 미디어에 대한 우리의 신뢰와 민주화의 근간을 약화시킨다고도 한다. 이러한 문제들을 해결하기 위해 많은 법ㆍ제도적 해결책들이 모색되고 있다. 하지만, 법ㆍ제도적 해결 방법은 가짜 뉴스 문제를 해결하는 효율적 방법이 아니다. 이는 미국에서의 자율적 규제와 미디어 리터러시 교육에서 확인되고 있으며, 이러한 해결 방법들은 우리에게도 많은 시사점을 준다 할 것이다.
Abstract
Fake news has the purpose of earning a profit or having an effect on the society and many of them have been distributed through the social media. Main distribution has been made by the links with the social media, and the publishers of fake news has made profits by increasing the web traffic through the links. A better distribution of the fake news makes them shared so many times and them get much interests. Fake news is one of internet phenomena, which is criticized lately and many people recently says that the fake news undermines our trust for the major media and weakens the basis of the democracy. Many laws and rules have been made to solve the problems. However, the formal rules are not efficient for the fake news problems. This has been verified in the self-regulating of media and media literacy education. These solutions say a lot for our country and, we have to consider them for a better future.
