Abstract
The purpose of this study is to derive socio-economic parameters that have major effects on public acceptance on autonomous vehicles. Currently, advanced countries vigorously supporting vehicle technology development to stimulate its’ commercialization which raising concerns on social acceptance of the technology. To examine the perception, authors utilized survey results conducted by recruiting 912 respondents consisted of three groups depending on their expertise in vehicles technology, transportation engineers and vocational drivers, and general public. Ordinal logistic regression model was employed for analyzing the data and drew statistically significant socio-economic factors. The results show that gender, age and prior experiences of car accidents were significantly affects responders perception on autonomous vehicles. Authors expect that results of this research could contribute to the field by providing socio-economic factors that have effects on public acceptance on autonomous vehicle.
