Abstract
This paper compared and analyzed the usage and characteristics of emotion expressions by generation on how language selection is performed in both Korean and Japanese languages through various emotional expressions appearing in Korean and Japanese conversation bodies. Looking at the use of "joy" speech types by generation in Korea and Japan, it can be seen that all generations in Korea have the highest rate of "emotional expression" in which speakers express their feelings to the other person, and "reason explanation" in their 50s and 60s. In Japan, all generations have the highest percentage of use of "emotional expression," followed by "emotional expression." Looking at the use of "angry," it can be seen that in Korea, all generations have the highest use rate of "emotional expression" utterances, and "reason questions" are used to ask why they have the second most anger, and the higher the generation, the higher the use rate. In the case of Japan, the ratio of "expression of emotion in emotional language" is the highest. From the characteristics of each generation, it can be seen that people in their 50s and 60s use more "reason questions" than other generations. Looking at the usage of "like," it can be seen that in Korea, all generations use the highest proportion of "emotional expression" and "reason explanation" is preferred as the generation increases. In Japan, it can be seen that all generations have the highest percentage of use of 'emotional language emotion expression', followed by 'reason explanation'. dislike Korea, there was no difference between generations in "reason explanation." Looking at the use of "hate" by Korean-Japanese generation, all generations in Korea had the highest percentage of "emotional expression" use. It can be seen that the higher the generation, the higher the usage ratio of 'reason explanation'. In Japan, all generations showed the highest percentage of use of "emotional language expression," while those in their 50s and 60s showed the second highest percentage of use of "reason explanation." dislike Korea, it can be seen that the types of Japanese "reason explanation" utterances are evenly expressed in all generations.
