「과연」と「果たして」に関する日韓対照研究- フレーム意味論の観点から -

This study examines the Korean epistemic adverb Kwayen using the HUFS-KJBPC ver.1 Korean–Japanese bidirectional parallel corpus and identifies Hatashite as its primary Japanese equivalent. Focusing on these expressions, the analysis explores the full semantic range of meanings and the interrelations among their meanings within the framework of frame semantics. Both Kwayen and Hatashite evoke an "Inference Judgment Formation Frame," foregrounding specific stages such as: (1) confusion in inference, (2) abandonment of inference, (3) deliberation among multiple options, (4) deliberation between two options, (5) deliberation on truth value, (6) skeptical inference, and (7) final decision-making. These meanings are interrelated through metonymic extensions, based on temporal proximity. All meanings share a common core of “inference judgment formation” (0), which serves as the central node to which the other meanings are connected through relations of synecdoche. Furthermore, the relationships between (1) confusion in inference, and (2) abandonment of inference, as well as between (5) deliberation on truth value and (6) skeptical inference, can also accounted for by synecdochic relations that reflect shifts between general and specific meanings.
