근대 정치사상은 영혼과 육체의 분리, 인간의 합리성에 대한 강조를 통해 인간을 해방하는 인간 중심 사고를 발전시켰다. 이러한 사고는 근대 국가 및 자본주의의 발전과 결합해 종교적 가치를 추구하던 중세인을 물질적 가치를 추구하는 근대적 개인으로 구성했다. 21세기 과학기술의 발전과 비인간 행위자의 영향력 확대는 인간이 추구해 온 근대적 주체성과 배타적 위계성을 해체한다. 본 논문은 이러한 변화를 ‘근대 이후의 기율(紀律) 권력’으로 개념화하고 근대적 개인의 합리성과 주체–객체 분리를 동시에 계승하면서도 파괴하는 권력 양식임을 논증하고자 한다. 이를 위해 근대정치사상과 근대성을 통해 근대 자본주의와 국가의 형성 및 확산을 통해 권력과 소유권 ‘나누기’를 설명하고, 해체주의와 기술의 본질을 ‘드러냄’으로 설명한다. 그리고 21세기 과학기술혁명으로 인해 도래할 근대 이후 세계의 ‘드러나는’ 특징을 정리한다.
Abstract
Modern political thought adopted a human-centred perspective, liberating humanity by separating the soul from the body and emphasising human rationality. Combined with the development of the modern nation-state and capitalism, this perspective transformed medieval individuals pursuing religious values into modern individuals pursuing material values. However, the advancement of 21st-century science and technology, coupled with the growing influence of non-human actors, is dismantling the modern concept of subjectivity and the exclusive hierarchy that humans have pursued. This paper conceptualises these changes as 'postmodern disciplinary power' and argues that this form of power simultaneously inherits and disrupts the rationality and subject–object separation of the modern individual. To this end, it explains the 'division' of power and property through modern political thought and modernity, via the formation and spread of modern capitalism and the state. It also describes the essence of deconstructionism and technology as 'unveiling (poiesis)'. Finally, it outlines the 'revealing' characteristics of the postmodern world ushered in by the 21st century scientific and technological revolution.
