코로나19 사태가 비경제활동 장애인의 취업 의지에 미친 주관적 영향력의 예측요인: 사회인지진로이론의 ‘진로 장벽’ 개념을 중심으로

초록

연구목적: 본 연구는 취업을 미희망한 데에 코로나19 사태의 영향이 있었다고 응답한 비경활 장애인들을 대상으로, 사회인지진로이론의 ‘진로 장벽’ 프레임워크를 사용하여 어떠한 배경 요인을 지닌 이들이 코로나19 사태로 인해 취업을 미희망하게 되었는지 파악하고자 하였다. 연구방법: <장애인고용패널조사> 2차 웨이브의 4차년도· 5차년도 자료 중 비경활 장애인들의 응답을 추출해 사용하였다. 코로나19 사태의 영향 정도를 지각된 진로 장벽으로 정의하고 종속 변수로 배치하였으며, 장애 중증도, 이전 일자리경험, 장애로 인한 차별경험, 사회적 지지를 설명변인으로 선택하고 자기효능감을 매개변수로 선택하였다. 구조방정식 모델링을 통해 각 설명변인의 직접효과 및 총효과를 통계적으로 검증하였다. 연구결과: 장애인이 진로 발달에 부정적으로 작용하는 사회심리적 변수를 지녔을 경우, 코로나19를 진로장벽으로 생각하지 않을 가능성이 높았다. 구체적으로, 장애가 중증이거나 사회적지지 수준이 낮은 경우 자기효능감의 감소를 매개로 하여 코로나19를 진로장벽으로 인식하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 시사점: 장애인이 코로나19 사태를 진로 장벽으로 인지하는 데에는 취업 미희망의 원인을 개인 내부에 돌리는지 혹은 외부에 돌리는지와 같은 귀인 방식이 핵심적인 것으로 나타났다.

Abstract

Purpose: This study is aimed at economically inactive people with disabilities who answered that they did not want to get a job due to COVID-19, and examined which background factors caused people with disabilities to not want to get a job, using the ‘Career barrier’ framework of Social Cognitive Career Theory. Method: The responses of economically inactive people with disabilities were extracted from the 4th and 5th data of the second wave of the Panel Survey of Employment for the Disabled (PSED). The degree of influence of COVID-19 to work was defined as a perceived career barrier and assigned as a dependent variable, and the severity of the disability, job experience, discrimination experience, and social support were selected as explanatory variables, and self-efficacy was selected as a mediator. The indirect effects and total effects of explanatory variables were analyzed through structural equation modeling. Results: If a disabled person has negative psychological or social variables to career development, it was less likely that he consider COVID-19 as a career barrier. Specifically, it was found that COVID-19 was not recognized as a career barrier for those with severe disabilities or weak social support, through decreased self-efficacy. Implications: Attribution system played a major role in recognizing COVID-19 as a career barrier.
