캄보디아는 동남아시아에 위치한 개발도상국가로 저렴한 노동력과 풍부한 관광자원을 기반으로 급속한 경제성장을 이루고 있다. 하지만, 빠른 경제성장에도 불구하고, 산업·사회·교육·보건서비스 등의 인프라기반이 취약하고 대도시와 중소도시 및 농촌지역 간의 지역격차가 큰 문제점으로 대두되고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 캄보디아의 2009년 인구센서스 자료를 이용하여 인구·산업·사회 인프라·교육측면의 불균등 분포 특성 및 산업의 입지계수 분석을 통해 지역격차의 문제점을 고찰하고 균형개발의 방안을 제시하는데 있다. 캄보디아의 지역격차를 해소하고 지속적인 경제성장을 이루기 위한 균형개발 방안으로 프놈펜, 시엠립, 시하누크빌 등의 주요 도시를 성장거점으로 육성하는 한국형 성장거점전략과 주변지역의 동반성장을 위한 인프라 연계를 캄보디아 국가개발계획의 대안으로 제시한다.
Abstract
Cambodia is a developing country in Southeast Asia and has achieved rapid economic growth based on the cheap labor forces and abundant tourism resources. Although Cambodia has grown economically, it has experienced the problems of regional gap caused by uneven distribution and vulnerability of infrastructures such as industrial, social, educational, and health service. The purpose of this study is to investigate the problems of regional gap using Cambodian census data published in 2009 and to suggest the even development methods by analyzing the locational quotient of industry and the uneven distribution characteristics in terms of population, industry, social infrastructure, and education level. This study suggests the Korean type growth pole strategy and the infrastructure linkage as the methods of even development of Cambodian national development plan in that those two methods have a lot of advantages in nurturing large cities such as Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Preah Sihanoukville and considering co-growth of fringes through strengthening the linkage of infrastructure between large cities and fringes for achieving sustainable economic growth and mitigating the regional gap in Cambodia.
