Cambodia located in the central part of the Southeast Asia is one of the nations that currently achieves most dynamic economic growth in the world. Nowadays, through its open-door policy, Cambodian government provides foreign investors ample opportunities for economic reform. Cambodian government has been aware that foreign investments bring the capital, skills and modern system for improving Lao economy and society. Since 2005, Korean SME(small and medium enterprise)investors have rapidly increased their Cambodian investments and became one of the key investors which takes third place at a stretch among foreign investors with total amount bases in Cambodia. This article examines motives why Korean SME investment has been increased rapidly through dividing three kinds of field such as economic, politic and social perspectives. In addition, this examines limitations in Cambodian investment environment by collecting and investigating experiences of Korean SME all the while. Thus it endeavors to approach substantial Cambodian investment environment with a full consideration. And its scrutinizes Southeast Asia phenomenon occurred by Korean SME investment in Cambodia.
