Abstract
This study explores the potential of applying systems thinking to moral education, based on the premise that contemporary moral issues are highly complex and cyclical in nature. Systems thinking, which focuses on overall contexts and the interactions among elements rather than isolated parts, can be applied to moral education to enable integrated consideration of the cognitive, emotional, and behavioral dimensions of morality, while also promoting cyclical reflection. The study examines the link between systems thinking and moral development, and proposes a two-stage instructional model: first, students learn foundational concepts; then, they apply them through project-based activities that connect moral judgment with practice. Aligned with the 2022 Revised Moral Education Curriculum, this study highlights the educational value of reconstructing systems theory in ways accessible to elementary learners, bridging theory and practice.
