본 연구의 목적은 유아교사를 위한 기후변화 교육프로그램을 개발하고 그 효과를 살펴보는 것이다. 연구자는 5단계 절차에 따라 유아교사를 위한 기후변화 교육프로그램을 개발하고, 그 효과를 전라남도의 유아교육기관에 근무하는 15명의 유아교사를 대상으로 살펴보았다. 실험 처치는 2023년 12월 4일부터 2024년 1월 19일까지 7주 동안 총 12차시 시행되었다. 연구 결과, 유아교사를 위한 기후변화 교육프로그램은 기후변화의 개념과 원인, 현상, 영향, 대처 방안 등에 관한 지식, 기술, 태도, 가치를 습득할 수 있는 교육내용과 교수-학습 방법, 평가 등으로 구성되었다. 또한 프로그램에 참여한 유아교사의 기후변화 소양, 환경 소양, 환경교수효능감이 유의하게 향상한 것으로 나타났다. 즉, 유아교사를 위한 기후변화 교육프로그램이 유아교사의 기후변화 소양, 환경 소양, 환경교수효능감을 향상하는 데 효과적이다. 이처럼 본 연구는 유아교사를 위한 기후변화 교육프로그램의 교육적 효과를 보여줌으로써 성공적인 유아 기후변화 교육을 위한 교사 교육프로그램의 새로운 모형을 제시하는 데 그 의의가 있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to develop a climate change education program for early childhood teachers and to examine its effects. Researchers developed a climate change education program for early childhood teachers according to 5-step process, and examined its effects with 15 early childhood teachers working at early childhood education institutions in Jeollanam-do. The experimental treatment was conducted for a total of 12 times for 7 weeks from December 4, 2023, to January 19, 2024. As a result of the study, the climate change education program for early childhood teachers consisted of educational content, teaching-learning methods, and evaluation that could acquire knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values related to the concept, cause, phenomena, impacts, and coping measures of climate change. In addition, it was found that the climate change literacy, environmental literacy, and environmental teaching efficacy of early childhood teachers who participated in the program were significantly improved. That is to say, the climate change education program for early childhood teachers is effective in improving the climate change literacy, environmental literacy, and environmental teaching efficacy of early childhood teachers. As such, this study is meaningful in presenting a new model of teacher education programs for successful early childhood climate change education by showing the educational effects of climate change education programs for early childhood teachers.
