최근 중국 청년층 취업 관련 신문에서 ‘上岸(상안)’이라는 표현이 빈번히 사용되고 있다. 본 연구는 이를 신흥 은유 표현으로 규정하고, 인지언어학의 개념 은유, 영상도식, ‘형태–개념’ 활성화 효과를 분석 틀로 삼아 의미⋅텍스트⋅통사적 특성 세 가지 차원에서 다음 세 가지 연구 문제에 답하였다. 첫째, ‘上岸’의 은유적 의미를 어떻게 규정할 수 있는가. 둘째, 텍스트에서 ‘上岸’ 사용이 텍스트에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가. 셋째, ‘上岸’은 어떠한 통사적 특징을 지니며 이를 뒷받침하는 인지적 메커니즘은 무엇인가. 본 연구는 신흥 은유 표현의 구조와 작동 방식을 체계적으로 분석함으로써, 인지언어학적 연구의 적용 가능성을 넓혔다.
Abstract
In recent years, the expression Shàng’àn (上岸) has gained prominence in Chinese newspaper discourse on youth employment. This study conceptualizes Shàng’àn as an emerging metaphorical expression and adopts a cognitive linguistic framework—integrating conceptual metaphor theory, image schema theory, and the form–concept activation effect—to address three interrelated research questions from the perspectives of semantics, discourse analysis, and syntax. First, what is the precise metaphorical meaning of Shàng’àn? Second, in what ways does the use of Shàng’àn contribute to the structuring and coherence of discourse? Third, what are the distinctive syntactic patterns associated with Shàng’àn, and what cognitive mechanisms account for them? Through a systematic examination of the structure and operation of this emerging metaphor, the study advances the understanding of novel metaphorical expressions and extends the scope of cognitive linguistic inquiry.
