Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the history and benefits of hybrid language teaching and learning model in US colleges and find a way to redesign and implement the college Spanish courses in Korea into hybrid model. Hybrid language teaching and learning model, defined as “courses that integrate technology assisted online activities with traditional face-to-face activities in a planned, pedagogically valuable manner”, has become an increasingly popular foreign language course designing model at college level in the United States. We review the important issues to consider when creating and maintaining hybrid foreign language course such as implementation of on-line resources, benefits of integrating technology, course redesigning, cost issue and effectiveness of hybrid courses, etc.
