Abstract

"Recently, generative AI research has been actively conducted. The results of the research show that Korean teachers’ perception of generative AI is generally positive. However, many researchers have suggested that in order for generative AI to be utilized well in education, generative AI-based curriculum education programs that teachers can utilize should be distributed. Accordingly, this study designed a plant exploration convergence teaching and learning program for science subjects using generative AI tools for a total of 5 periods. In order to objectively verify the effectiveness of the developed program, a heterogeneous control group pre- and post-test design model was used. The subjects of the study were 48 people, including 24 in the experimental group and 25 in the control group. The test tools were selected as scientific inquiry ability and attitude toward science. As a research procedure, the experimental and control groups were tested for a total of 5 periods after confirming that they were homogeneous groups through a pre-test. The results of the post-test after the experimental treatment showed that the experimental group showed a significant increase in both scientific inquiry ability and attitude toward science compared to the control group (p<.05)."
