이 논문은 해방 후 미군정기 한경직 목사의 전도 패러다임에 대한 연구이다.이 논문의 목적은 해방 후 미군정기 한국 교회가 기독교의 본질을 경험하고 실천해 왔는가라는 질문에 답하기 위한 조그만 단서를 제공하는 것이다. 이 연구는 한경직 목사의 설교와 한경직 목사에 대한 선행연구를 바탕으로 이를 위해 첫째, 미군정기라는 상황과 한경직 목사의 전도 패러다임을 조지 헌터(George Hunter)의 기독교 수용이론적 관점과 폴 히버트(Paul Hiebert)의 상황화 이론적 관점으로 해석하였다. 둘째, 한경직 목사의 상황화된 로마식 전도적 관점에서 한경직 목사의 전도 패러다임을 다뤘다. 셋째, 한경직 목사의 상황화된 로마식 전도의 나비효과에 대해서 다뤘다. 연구 결과, 해방 후 미군정기라는 특수한 상황과 한경직 목사의 전도에 대한 인식과 반공 이데올로기가 융합되면서 첫째, 로마의 기독교 국교화 이후 전해진 로마식 전도의 DNA가 그의 설교와 전도 목회에서 그대로 드러나게 되었다. 둘째, 폴 히버트의 상황화 이론에서 볼 때 혼합주의가 발생할 수 있는 요소들이 그대로 한경직 로마식 전도의 상황화에 드러났다. 셋째, 한경직 로마식 전도의 상황화의 나비효과로써, 서북청년회의 지리산 빨치산 토벌, 제주 4.3사건, 5.16쿠데타 등이 발생하여 신성로마제국의 십자군 원정과 비슷한 양상을 보였다.
Abstract
This study is to explore Rev. Han, Kyung-Gik’s pradigm of evangelism in era of United States Army Military Government in Korea(USAMGIK). The purpose of this study is to contribute providing a clue to answer the question “Has the Korean Church experienced the nature of Christianity after liberation of Japanese occupation during USAMGIK?” For this study, based on the previous studies and Rev. Han’s sermons, Rev. Han’s paradigm of evangelism is analyzed by George Hunter’s theory of reception and Paul Hiebert’s contextualization theory. Then, Rev. Han’s paradigm of evangelism is evaluated by the contextualized Roman way of evangelistic DNA. Finally, this study discussed the butterfly-effect of Rev. Han’s paradigm of evangelism. As a result, this study shows first that Rev. Han’s paradigm of Roman way evangelism had been emphasizing in his sermons and evangelism ministry because of the context of liberation from Japanese occupation and USAMGIC. Second, based on Hiebert’s contextualization theory, the critical factors of syncretism are shown in Rev. Han’s paradigm of evangelism. Third, as the butterfly-effect, Rev. Han’s paradigm of evangelism that is similar to the Crusade that was derived from the paradigm of evangelism of Holy Roman Church gave a significance influence on such as Youth Adult of Northwestern’s military operation of eliminating partisans in Mt. Jiri, Jeju 4.3 incident, and 5.16 coup d’état.
