본 연구는 부산광역시 A구에서 사회경제적으로 소외된 지역의 주민을 대상으로 진행된 통합예술 프로그램 『오광 쓰리고!』에 관한 질적 사례연구로서, ‘예술적 개입’이 참여자의 내면과 관계에 어떠한 다층적 의미를 생성하는지 분석하였다. 2024년 5월부터 10월까지 6개월간 참여관찰, 심층 면담, 활동 결과물 분석 등 다각적인 자료 수집 방법을 활용하였으며, 수집된 자료를 통해 예술적 개입의 특성인 ‘자기 성찰’, ‘공감 형성’, ‘내면의 해소’의 관점에서 주제 분석을 시행하였다. 연구 결과, 참여자들은 예술 활동을 통해 자신의 삶과 미래를 긍정적으로 재구성하는 ‘자기 성찰을 통한 주제화’를 경험하였다. 또한, 개인의 서사를 공유하고 동시대의 역사적 경험에 공감하며 깊은 정서적 유대를 형성하는 ‘공감 형성을 통한 감정적 유대’를 형성하였다. 마지막으로, 연극적 장치를 통해 억압된 감정을 안전하게 표출하고 해소함으로써 ‘감정 표현을 통한 내면의 해소와 치유적 전환’을 이루었다. 본 연구는 통합예술 기반의 예술적 개입이 단순한 여가 활동을 넘어, 참여자들의 주체성을 회복하고 공동체적 관계를 복원하는 실천적 기제임을 실증적으로 밝혔다.
Abstract
This study, as a qualitative case study of the integrated arts program 『O-Gwang Sseurigo!』conducted for residents of a socio-economically marginalized area in A-gu, Busan, analyzed the multi-layered meanings that ‘artistic intervention’ generated in the participants inner lives and relationships. Over a six-month period from May to October 2024, multi-faceted data collection methods were utilized, including participant observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of activity outcomes. The collected data were thematically analyzed from the perspectives of‘self-reflection,’‘empathy formation,’and‘internal resolution’ as key characteristics of artistic intervention. The study found that participants experienced ‘thematization through self-reflection’positively reframing their lives and futures through artistic activities. Additionally, they formed‘emotional bonds through empathy formation’ sharing personal narratives and sympathizing with shared historical experiences to create deep emotional ties. Finally, they achieved‘catharsis and therapeutic transformation through emotional expression’by safely expressing and resolving suppressed emotions through theatrical devices. This study empirically demonstrated that integrated arts-based artistic intervention functions not merely as a leisure activity but as a practical mechanism for restoring participants subjectivity and rebuilding community relationships.
