정서·행동장애 증가 문제와 전문가 집단의 역할

본 연구는 먼저 대학내 학문 연구 집단으로서의 정서 행동장애 전문 연구자들의 미래 지향적 관점을 중심으로 고찰, 논의 되었다. 특히 전문연구자의 연구자적 치열함과 태도, 자기 감시적 기능, 연구윤리의 적용 등등에 관련된 논의가 이루어 졌다. 논의에서 특히 강조된 것은 2008년의 우리나라 개정 특수교육법상에 나타난 장애아동(handicapped child)은 1975년의 P.L.94-142에 사용 되었다가 1990년 IDEA에서 발달장애아동(child with developmental disability)으로 재개정 된 것에 근거하여 반드시 변경 사용되어야 한다는 점이다. 용어에 대한 재정립은 법률상 용어가 일반 국민들의 개념을 선도한다는 측면과 아동발달에 대한 인권적, 사회적 가치의 고양을 위해 반드시 필요한 조치로 거듭 강조되었다. 정서 행동장애아동 관련 지금까지의 연구는 자폐스펙트럼장애 혹은 ADHD와 같은 특정 행동문제 중재가 주류적 연구로 간주되었다. 이에 지금까지의 연구 결과들에 기초하여 향후의 연구는 일반학교에서의 폭력 예방 혹은 학대적 언어 사용에 대한 중재 연구로 확대 되어야 하는 정황들이 제시되었다. 연구자들은 일반 학교 내에서 나날이 증가되고 있는 정서·행동장애 문제 해결을 위한 선도적 역할을 전문 학회인 한국 정서·행동장애아 교육학회가 예를 들면 “청소년의 정서·행동 표현 기술과 가치교육” 프로그램을 주관하여 시행할 책무성에 대한 권고를 포함하였다. 연구자들은 본 연구를 통하여 발달지체 영아 및 경계선급의 영아를 포함한 유아들을 위한 정서·행동발달과 의사소통 및 상호작용 증진 프로그램이 정서행동장애 예방의 일환으로 집중 연구의 새로운 장이 되어야 한다는 점을 결론적으로 제시하였다.
Abstract
This research consider significant concerns regarding the future of emotional and behavior professional researchers as an academic leading group. The researchers strongly proposed changing the term "handicapped child" to "child with developmental disability" and the term " handicapped infant" to " infant with developmental delay" for both legislative mandate and societal values. Based on the history of the advancement through changes in special education law, for example, Education for All Handicapped Children Act of 1975(Public Law 94-142) was renamed the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in 1990. The Korean Society for the Emotional and Behavioral Disorders(KSEBD) dedicated to supporting the professional development and enhancing the expertise of who work on behalf of children with challenging behaviors. The researchers emphasize that the KSEBD should provide value education in verbal and behavioral public attitudes to prevent for the verbal abuse problems in secondary schools. Prior research studies have consistently focused on such as ASD or ADHD associated with interventions of specific factors. Now is the time to enhance the researches of applied behavioral analysis for successful social- communicative interactions of students in general education classrooms. The researchers believe that there are effective intervention approaches that may be used to address challenging behavior and support the development of young children's social emotional competence and communication skills in relation to very young children who are at risk for social emotional delays.
