오늘날 판소리 창작은 일련의 지향성을 분류해 유형화할 수 있을 만큼활발하게 진행되고 있다. 이에 따라 판소리 장르로 범주화할 수 있는 작품들을 선별할 수 있는 기준을 마련하고 판소리의 현대적 발전 양상에 대한학문적 관심이 필요하다. 판소리 본질에 대한 논의는 실체로서의 판소리에 접근함으로써 텍스트형성의 내‧외적 원리를 찾아내는 데서 시작해 변화 범위를 규명하는 데까지 나아가야 할 것이다. 본 연구는 영남지역에서 활동하는 소리꾼들의 창작 경향을 조사해 음악 지향 창작판소리와 극 지향 창작판소리의 존재를확인하였다. 이는 판소리의 장르 요소인 ‘서사, 음악, 극’ 가운데 하나를 포착해 확장시킨 것으로 이전까지는 서사만 변화시켰던 창작판소리에서 음악성과 극성을 확장시키는 형태가 추가적으로 나타나고 있는 것으로 이해된다. 이러한 판소리 변화 양상은 역사적으로 그 근원을 찾아볼 수 있다. 사회적 환경과 청중 취향에 따라 변화한 판소리는 옛날식 소리와 새로운 소리로 구별된 인식을 보인 적이 있었다. 또 20세기로 이어지면서는 통속성을극대화한 소리와 전통성을 유지한 소리로 양분된 인식이 나타나기도 하였다. 곧 청중과의 교감을 위한 음악성의 변화는 자연스럽게 나타나는 예술적 특징이며 이것이 판소리의 역사적 전개에서 표출되었음을 확인할 수 있다. 연극적 연출을 강하게 지향하는 유형에 대한 이해는 판소리 연창 형태의 변화에서 역사적 근원을 찾을 수 있다. 판소리가 광대소학지희에서 가장 경비가 적게 드는 창을 중심으로 이루어진 것이라면 극양식으로 전환될수 있는 개방성을 그 본질 속에 지니고 있는 것이다. 오늘날 나타나는 일련의 창작 경향을 판소리사 안에서 논의해야 한다. 기존에는 ‘서사 지향 창작판소리’만 나타나던 형태에서 ‘음악 지향 창작판소리’ ‘극 지향 창작판소리’로 세밀화 되고 있는 예술적 분화를 주목하고각 유형에 대한 학술적 관심과 이론이 마련되어야 할 시점이다. 판소리 창작의 새로운 흐름을 소개 및 의미화하는 본 연구는 판소리 발전의 현재적양상을 포착하고 학술적 관심을 촉구하는 계기가 될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
Today, pansori creation is so active that it can be categorized. Therefore, it is necessary to establish criteria for selecting works that can be classified as a pansori genre and to have academic interest in the modern development process of pansori. Discussions about the essence of pansori should begin with approaching the entity of pansori and finding the internal and external principles of text formation, and then move on to clarifying the scope of change. This study investigated the creative tendencies of pansori artists active in the Yeongnam region and confirmed the existence of music-centered creative pansori and drama-centered creative pansori. This is an expansion of the genre elements of pansori: narrative, music, and drama. In creative pansori, forms that expand musicality and dramatic character are also emerging. The origins of these changes in pansori can be found in history. Pansori has changed according to the social environment and audience tastes, and was once divided into old and new styles. Soon we will see that changes in musicality are a naturally occurring artistic characteristic, and this is clearly evident in the historical development of pansori. The understanding of the types that pursue theatricality can find their historical roots in the changes in the form of pansori performances. Pansori inherently has the openness to be transformed into dramatic forms. Creative trends that emerge today must be discussed within the history of pansori. We should pay attention to the phenomenon of artistic differentiation being subdivided from the existing ‘narrative-centered creative pansori’ to ‘music-centered creative pansori’ and ‘play-centered creative pansori.’ And Academic interest and theory must be established for each type.This study, which introduces and gives meaning to a new trend in pansori creation, may serve as an opportunity to capture the current aspects of pansori development and stimulate academic interest.
