본 연구는 설립자세대부터 Z세대까지 모든 세대의 행복 수준을 살펴보고, 세대별 및 세대 내 분위별 행복의 영향요인을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 국회미래연구원에서 실시한 「2023 한국인의 행복조사」 연구에서 수집한 자료를 활용하였다. 각 세대의 행복에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인 확인을 위해 다중회귀분석을, 세대별 행복 수준의 분위에 따라 영향요인 탐색을 위해 분위회귀분석을 실시하였다. 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 각 세대의 행복 수준은 M세대의 행복 평균이 가장 높았으며, 다음으로 X세대, Z세대, 베이비붐세대, 설립자세대 순으로 나타났다. 둘째, 세대별 행복에 영향을 미치는 주요 요인으로 공통적인 요인과 특정 세대에 영향을 미치는 요인을 확인하였다. 셋째, 세대별 행복 수준의 분위에 따른 영향요인 분석 결과, 모든 세대의 전체 분위에서 통제 소재가 행복과 유의한 정적 관련성을 보였다. 그 외 요인들은 세대별 행복 수준의 분위에 따라 다르게 나타났다.
Abstract
This study aims to examine the happiness levels of all generations, from the founding generation to Generation Z, and to identify the factors influencing happiness both within and across these generations. To achieve this, we utilized data collected from the "2023 Koreans’ Happiness Survey" conducted by the National Assembly Future Research Institute. Multiple regression analysis was performed to identify key factors influencing happiness for each generation, while quantile regression analysis was used to explore the impact of these factors based on the happiness levels within each generation. The analysis yielded the following results: First, the average happiness level was highest among the Millennial generation, followed by Generation X, Generation Z, the Baby Boomer generation, and the founding generation. Second, both common factors affecting happiness across generations and factors specific to certain generations were identified. Third, the analysis of factors influencing happiness according to the quantile of happiness levels indicated that locus of control had a statistically significant positive association with happiness across all generations. Other factors varied depending on the quantile of happiness levels within each generation.
