서울대학교 奎章閣 一文庫에 소장되어 있는 古書 가운데 國語史 資料는 귀중본 46종 51책을 포함하여 약 285종 458책 정도로 추산된다. 여기에는 국가 문화재인 寶物로 지정된 楞嚴經諺解, 牧牛子修心訣諺解, 般若心經諺解 외에도 同種의 책이 寶物로 지정되어 있는 貴重本과, 국어사 연구에서 매우 긴요하게 이용되는 貴重本들이 다수 소장되어 있다.一 方鍾鉉 先生의 文獻 收集은 국어사 연구를 위한 前段階로써 행해진 것들인데, 그는 이들 국어사 자료에 대한 書誌學的 硏究에 있어서도 높은 수준을 보여준다. 1934년부터 1963년의 遺稿集에 실린 것까지 약 30여 편의 국어사 자료 관련 연구 논문에는, 철저한 文獻 考證의 태도와 함께 문헌에 대한 치밀한 관찰과 깊은 통찰력이 잘 드러나 있어 오늘날의 연구자들에게 많은 것을 시사해 준다.
Abstract
Ilsa Bang, Jong-hyeon and Book Materials on Korean Language History Lee, Ho-kwon It is estimated that, among old books kept in the Ilsa Collection in the Gyu-jang-gak[奎章閣] Archives of Seoul National University, there are around 285 kinds of 458 volumes including 46 kinds of 51 rare volumes related to Korean language history. The volumes include Neung-eom-gyeong-eon-hae[楞嚴經諺解], Mok-u-ja-su-sim-gyeol-eon-hae[牧牛子修心訣諺解] and Ban-ya-sim-gyeong-eon-hae[般若心經諺解], which are designated as national treasures, and many other rare books treasured by the country as well as extremely critical book materials for research on Korean language history. Ilsa Bang, Jong-hyeon[方鍾鉉] had collected literature before he launched his study of Korean language history. Also he had revealed the prominent level of bibliographical research on literature related to Korean language history. Around 30 research papers related to book materials on Korean language history, which had been published from 1934 to 1963 including those in the posthumous collection, shows his thorough attitude toward historical research of literature, his precise observation and sharp insight, all of which make a lot of suggestions to contemporary researchers.
