朝鮮中期 漢詩에서의 ‘奇’

Abstract

So far, reading of Sino-Korean poetry in Mid-Chosun Dynasty has been confined in three keywords: Tang-style, Reaction, and Romanticism. Despite of good achievement of studies so far, studies on Sino-Korean poetry in Mid-Chosun Dynasty could not get over persistance of Tang-style, excessive archism, and false romanticism, so now they have reached the limit, and are in the way of full understanding of poetry of this era. This study use ‘unusualness(奇)' as a aesthetic concept to discuss the stream of Siino-Korean poetry in mid-Chosun Dynasty. In this study, ‘unusualness(奇)’ means difference, extraordinariness, peculiarity, which is opposed to ‘rightness(正)', the literary standard of the time. Since the literary history is operated by the mutual relation of ‘rightness(正)’ and ‘unusualness(奇)’, study on ‘unusualness(奇)’ may examine the other part of the literary stream in Mid-Chosun. In this study, I focused on the dynamics of standards and anti-standards of the poetical circles of the time. As a result, I found out that the poetry of mid-Chosun also pursued the aesthetic of ‘unusualness(奇)’ through extension of poetic standard, purposal violation of poet-writing norm, and innovation of cliche images. These aspects have literary historical values as they are ‘unusualness(奇)’ compared to the ‘rightness(正)'. Also we can affirm the fallacy of the existing criticism that the Sino-Korean poetry in Mid-Chosun is stereotyped and anonymous. The ‘unusualness' in the poetry of Mid-Chosun Dynasty can be compared with that of other eras. I hope to complement the problems of formulaic literary history writing through comparative study of literary norms and deviations.
